Refugee Job Search Guide
KentuckianaWorks, in partnership with Louisville Metro Government’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, hosted a series of community roundtables designed to identify and develop resources needed to support refugee employment in our region. One of those resources was the How-To Guide for Refugee Employment Success. We are grateful to the many people and organizations who contributed to this community resource — including frontline workers, translators, interpreters, community-based organizations, resettlement agencies, consultants, and other members of Louisville’s refugee community.
This guide is meant to provide clear information to help you begin your job search. It will be most helpful when used together with a caseworker or employment specialist at a refugee resettlement agency, but it can also help other newcomers to the U.S. who are looking for their first job and trying to understand how the employment process works.
