New Shelbyville Career Center Serving Adult and Young Adult Job Seekers
On Monday, October 27th, Shelbyville Mayor Troy Ethington and leaders from the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, KentuckianaWorks, The Spot, the Kentucky Career Center, and local employers officially cut the ribbon at the new career center in Shelbyville.
“They have a great team that will be serving this area. So I’m very excited and very thankful to have this organization in our community. It’s a blessing.”
A five minute drive from Shelbyville’s historic Main Street, the career center is now home to two workforce programs:
- The Spot: Young Adult Opportunity Center connects 16-24 year olds to a support system and employers hiring now. The Spot is a partnership of KentuckianaWorks & Goodwill Kentucky. TheSpotKY.org.
- The Kentucky Career Center helps adult workers with every aspect of their job search, from improving their resume to landing a quality job. KCCLou.org.
The teams at The Spot and the Kentucky Career Center also work closely with employers to connect them with skilled, qualified candidates and solve their workforce challenges. All of the services offered, both for job seekers and employers, are free of charge.
The Shelbyville career center is located at 77 Mack Walters Rd, Suite 301B, Shelbyville, KY 40065 and is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Call their team at (502) 221-3659 or visit to learn more about their offerings.
