Insider Louisville, Code Louisville gains momentum with rising enrollment, graduation rates and job placement

Louisville resident Erika Nielsen worked at a grocery store chain in 2014 but was looking for something more lucrative and less physical.Rob Richardson, also of Louisville, co-owned a pizza restaurant when he decided to pursue a career in computer programming, a passion that had developed during his youth.

Both now work in information technology, writing computer code. Their new jobs pay about twice as much as their old ones. And their coding education was free thanks to Code Louisville, a local effort that aims to helps Kentuckians and Hoosiers find better jobs, while providing businesses with qualified and desperately needed IT employees.
